Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi says Bangladesh-India border haats will reopen soon

<span style="color: #222222;">Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said that among the three trading border haats on Bangladesh-India border which were closed due to the pandemic, one of them is now operational and another one will open soon.<br />''<br />''After the Bangladesh-India Commerce Minister level meeting, which was held on December 22-23 in New Delhi, Munshi stated that in response to India's suggestion for reopening the bordering haats, Dhaka said that efforts are on to reopen the border haats. He also said that India has agreed to supply seven essential items, including rice, wheat, sugar, and onion to Bangladesh as per the country's demand. Munshi further said that during the meeting, Bangladesh requested India to withdraw the anti-dumping duty imposed earlier in 2017 on the Bangladeshi Jute-made goods.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in a statement said that both countries agreed to start talks for a trade deal at an early date.</span><br />
