In Assam, the Commandant of 15th India Reserve Battalion, Mridul Kumar Dutta has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty in connection with the incident at Chekarcham under Cachar district along Assam-Mizoram border. Extremists had attacked the border outpost of the Battalion and looted huge catches of arms and ammunitions on November 13. With this, so far 14 policemen have been suspended by the Assam government for negligence of duties.<br/>
