Combined NATO coalition, Afghan security force kill 12 insurgents

In Afghanistan a combined NATO coalition and Afghan security force killed 12 insurgents in separate operations in Wardak, Paktiya and Logar provinces. A press release issued by the NATO coalition headquarters in Kabul on Sunday says four insurgents were killed when the security force resorted to retaliatory firing in the Tangi Valley of Wardak province during security operation. In Zurmat district of Paktiya province five insurgents were killed when security force was searching for a Taliban leader. He was wanted in connection with several ambushes and roadside bomb attacks against Afghan forces. In yet another operation in Logar province three insurgents were killed.The Combined Afghan and coalition security force also arrested several facilitators of the insurgents during the search operations. A huge cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and narcotic drugs was also seized in different operations in Helmand, Kandhar and Kunduz provinces.
