In Afghanistan, combined NATO and Afghan forces killed several insurgents during a security operation in Maiwand district of Kandahar province on Wednesday. After positively identifying the insurgent’s position, the force returned fire, killing several insurgents. Initial reports indicate that no civilians were harmed during the operation. A drug cache consisting of 225 kilograms of hashish was recovered in Panjwai district of the province. Combined forces discovered huge cache of sophisticated weapons and ammunition in Uruzgan, Ghazni and Herat provinces on Wednesday during the security operations.
