In Meghalaya, the main function was organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the State Capital Shillong.Governor Ranjeet Shekhar Mooshahari unfurled the national flag. Addressing the people, Mr Mooshahari, law and order situation in Meghalaya has been stable but he expressed concern over the increase of insurgency in the Garo Hills.Mr Mooshahari called upon politicians, civil servants and officials to work tirelessly for betterment of the people.Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma was also present at the function. People in large number attended the celebration. Colourful Tableaus were taken out depicting different subjects, including Indo-Bangla ‘Border Haat’ at Kalaichar in West Garo Hills.
