The proposal to change the colour of West Bengal taxies will not be implemented after protest from taxi owners and taxi drivers. Apart from this, the uniform of taxi drivers will also not change. State Transport Minister Madan Mitra said this after meeting with taxi owners and drivers at the Khudiram Anusilan Kendra in Kolkata today. It may be recalled that according to the state Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee’s wishes there was a proposal to change the colour of taxies to blue and white. Madan Mitra said that he would aprise wishes of the taxi drivers and owners to the Chief Minister.
