The Chhattisgarh government is holding an all-party meeting in capital Raipur this evening to discuss issues related to the abduction of the Sukma district Collector by the Maoists .This was decided in an emergency meeting chaired by the chief minister Dr.Raman Singh last night . Briefing reporters in Raipur this morning the chief minister said that the government will act on the suggestions that come to the fore in the all-party meet .He said that the entire government machinery has been pressed into service to find possible ways to trace and secure the release the abducted Collector. Dr. Singh said that the state government is in constant touch with the Centre as well as the government of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh in this connection .He has also instructed all the officials and people’s representatives to observe adequate precautions while visiting the villages under the week-long second phase of the ‘gram-suraj abhiyan’ in the state .It was in one such interactive village meet in Majhipara in the Sukma district that the Collector Mr. Alex Paul Menon was kidnapped at gun-point by the Maoists last Saturday.Meanwhile, the security of the adjacent Dantewada district Collector has been increased following naxal threat to his life. Similarly all the police stations across the naxal affected Bastar division have been put on high alert.The ADG, naxal operations told press persons that the police is analyzing the intelligence inputs received from different sources in this matter.
