The Centre today said it was in constant touch with the Chhattisgarh government on the abduction of the Sukma Collector and providing all necessary help to resolve the crisis. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Home secretary R K Singh said his ministry is in regular touch with the state government. Mr Singh said whatever support is needed by them is being given and will be given. Naxals abducted 32-year-old IAS officer Alex Paul Menon on Saturday when he was holding a meeting as part of the government's Special Gram Suraj Abhiyan.
The Maoists yesterday set a deadline of April 25 to fulfil their demands that include immediate halt of all police action against them and release of eight fellow comrades.
