Kerala Chief Minister Mr. V S Achuthanandhan has said that the proposed Food Security Act and Maraine Fisheries Act of the Centre will harm the interests of the State. Addressing a conference of Members of Parliament from the state in Thiuvananthapuram, he said that collective action is needed to protect the interests of Kerala in ASEAN Agreement as well. The Chief Minister pointed out that other member countries of the Agreement have not singed the negative list and hence the agrarian and fisheries sectors of Kerala are to face serious consequences.
