Cold waves continued to sweep most parts of Punjab and Haryana with Amritsar today recording a minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius. While the mercury at Amritsar settled three notches below normal, Ludhiana registered a low of 6.1 deg C. The minimum at Patiala settled at 6.5 deg C, Adampur in Jalandhar recorded a minimum of 2.3 deg C.In Haryana, Hissar was the coldest at 4.6 deg C, down two notches, while Narnaul also shivered at a low of 5 deg C, down two notches. Chandigarh also experienced a cold night at 6.4 deg C, down one degree.Fog reduced visibility early this morning at some places, including Karnal and Rohtak in Haryana and at Amritsar in Punjab. The MeT office said cold conditions are likely to continue over the next two days in the region.
