Cold wave sweeps Punjab & Haryana

Cold wave has started gripping the northern region including Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh as the night temperature has started dipping upto two degree Celsius below normal at some places in the region.AIR correspondent Rajesh Bali reports that in Punjab, Amritsar with minimum of 4.8 degree C remained the coldest followed by Adampur near Jalandhar with 6.8 degree C, Ludhiana with 6.9 and Patiala with 7.4 degree C.In Haryana, Hissar with minimum of 4.8 degree C as was of Amritsar was the coldest city. Whereas, Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 9.7 degree Celsius.The Chandigarh Met deptt. Has predicted further dip in night and morning temperatures in the next 48 hours with mainly dry atmosphere in both Punjab and Haryana.
