Cold wave grips North India

The intensity of cold wave in the National capital has increased with the night temperature coming to three degrees below the normal.

The minimum temperature recorded today is five degree celsius while the maximum settled at 21.9 degree celsius, a notch below normal.

The foggy conditions disrupted rail, road and air traffic. More than 60 trains were running late and two flights were cancelled and more than 10 flights were delayed due to low visibility at airport.

Met department has predicted thick fog tomorrow morning as well. The maximum and minimum temperature will oscillate between 22 and 7 degree celcius.

Northern parts of the country including Haryana, Punjab ad Chandigarh are also shivering under the intense cold.
At Hisar the minimum temperature is recorded at 0.1 degree celsius, whereas in Punjab the Ludhiana was coldest at minimum 0.8 degree celsius, minus 6 degree departure from normal.

The minimum temperature at Amritsar recorded at 1.3 degree celsius and at Karnal 4 degree celsius.
