Cold wave grips North India

Cold conditions are continuing unabated in most parts of north India. In the national capital, Met Department has predicted the minimum temperature to be around 6 degree Celsius for today. Dense fog is also expected in some parts of the city this morning.<br/><br/>Higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall yesterday leading to further drop in mercury. Gulmarg at minus 11.4 degrees Celsius was the coldest recorded place in Jammu and Kashmir. <br/><br/>Cold wave is prevailing across Punjab and Haryana as well, with Amritsar recording the lowest temperature in the plains, at 2.2 degrees celsius. In Rajasthan, Churu recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3.2 degrees Celsius. Many trains are running late due to foggy conditions in the Northern Division.
