Cold wave grips Kashmir valley following snowfall and heavy rain

In Jammu and Kashmir fresh snow fall on higher reaches has forced suspension of traffic on Srinagar-Leh highway.AIR correspondent reports the entire valley is in the grip of cold wave after most of the higher reaches received snow and planes were lashed by intermittent rain since Friday morning.The snow fall of several inches at the world famous tourist resorts of Gulmarg and Sonamarg brought joy to tourists present there.However authorities were forced to suspend traffic on Sonamarg-Gumri road as there was substantial snow fall in and around zojila pass.Temperatures in the valley dipped by several notches as plains were lashed with rains.With more rain predicted for the day the business on the festival of Eid could be hit as inclement weather could dampen the spirit of shoppers.
