Cold wave continues in North India

Biting chill and icy winds continued to trouble north India as temperatures remained below normal in most places across the region.

National capital Delhi, where the mercury has plummeted since the past few days, settled at a low of 5.3 deg C, two notches below normal.

In Uttar Pradesh, bitter cold condition is continuing across the state. Night and day temperatures fell appreciably in many areas. Severe cold continued unabated as the mercury remained below normal levels despite sunshine in most parts of Himachal Pradesh.

In Kashmir the mercury in the Valley continue to stay below the freezing point .The Met office reports that the Cold wave conditions prevailed across Punjab and Haryana.

Rajasthan is under the grip of a severe cold which threw life out of gear for residents of the state.
