<span style="color: #222222;">Cold wave conditions persist in several parts of North India. In Jammu and Kashmir, five security personnel and as many civilians lost their lives in multiple snow avalanches during the past 48 hours in north Kupwara and Ganderbal districts. The avalanches were triggered by heavy snowfall in higher reaches including areas along Line of Control in North Kashmir. Several soldiers were rescued from avalanche hit forward post in Machhil sector in Kupwara. The rescue operation is continuing in the affected areas.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) has issued low-level avalanche warning till tomorrow evening for several areas including Leh.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Cold winds from the hills have brought down the mercury in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department said, the city recorded a low of 10.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees above the normal. A thick blanket of fog enveloped most places in the states in the morning reducing visibility.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' In Rajasthan, Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of zero degrees Celsius. Sriganganagar, Bikaner and Jaisalmer and several other places recorded rainfall in the past 24 hours. Foggy conditions were also witnessed in several places.</span><br />''  <br />
