Cold wave back in north India

Rain and snow brought the chill back in North India.

It was a foggy night in Delhi with the visibility falling below 50 meters at one point and people woke up to a chilly morning with icy winds today.

Rain had lashed the city over the past two days and were attributed to a western disturbance.

The Met department has predicted a downward trend for the mercury for the next two days.

Intense cold persisted in Himachal Pradesh despite a marginal increase in day temperatures due to a cloud cover.

There was no fresh snowfall in the Kashmir valley. One way traffic has been restored on Jammu-Srinagar National highway on Tuesday evening.

In Punjab, people in Jalandhar city shivered due to cold waves sweeping the area.

Cold returned to Rajathan with a vengeance with Sikar recording the lowest temperature of 4.5 degrees in the desert state.
