In Uttar Pradesh, the cold wave is continuing unabated with 21 more deaths reported due to severe cold. Light showers lashed eastern UP on Monday resulting in further drop in temperature. The rail and road traffic remained disrupted throughout the state. In Bihar, all schools have been closed due to prevailing cold wave conditions. In remaining parts of North India, the cold wave abated slightly with mercury rising by a few notches. A number of trains are still running late following the disruption in train services due to dense fog in Northern India including the national capital yesterday. The shallow fog in New Delhi did not affect flight services which were normal at the Indira Gandhi International airport this morning. However, flights to Srinagar, Amritsar and Chandigarh were delayed due to fog in those cities.<br/><br/>According to met Department, fog conditions will occur over parts of Indo-Gangetic plains and Assam during next 2 days. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northwest, central and east parts of the country during next 2 days and slight fall over northwest India thereafter. Isolated rain and snow is forecast over Jammu & Kashmir. Dry weather conditions will prevail over remaining parts of the country with Isolated rainfall over some parts of peninsular India.
