The ongoing cold conditions abated marginally in Punjab and Haryana even as the minimum temperature hovered between one to two degrees Celsius below normal in the region. According to Met office, the minimum temperature raised by upto three degrees Celsius in several parts of the region. However, a thick blanket of fog engulfed several areas including Amritsar, Karnal, Ludhiana and Rohtak. Amritsar was the coldest place in the plains of Punjab and Haryana with a low of three degrees Celsius, one notch below normal.
