Public sector Cochin Shipyard has delivered a passenger-cum-cargo vessel built by it to the Andaman and Nicobar administration.<br />'' <br />'' The vessel christened Nalanda has a capacity to carry 500 passengers and 150 metric tonnes of cargo. The ship will operate mainly between the islands in Andaman and Nicobar, but can also sail to the mainland if needed.<br />'' <br />''The protocol signing and handing over ceremony of Nalanda was held on board the vessel at the Cochin Shipyard.
