The Cochin International Airport Ltd [CIAL] has made a net profit of Rs 77 crore during the last fiscal, as against Rs 59 crore in the previous year. The company declared a dividend of 12 per cent to its shareholders.Announcing this at the 16th Annual General Meeting in Kochi today, the CIAL Chairman and the State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said the company registered a total turnover of Rs 211 crore during the last financial year, 23 per cent more than the year before. Achuthanandan said talks are on with domestic and international carriers to open new sectors, and efforts are underway to attract more chartered flights and freight carriers. The Cochin International Airport is the first greenfield airport in the country, built under public-private partnership.
