Coastal surveillance strengthened after 26/11 Mumbai attack: Raju

Coastal surveillance has been increased considerably after the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack. Stating this in Bangaluru today Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju said the Coast Guards are given advanced surveillance and reconnaissance equipment. Monitoring by marine police is augmented and automatic identification of vessels system is in place. Patrolling boats are also increased. He was speaking at the Golden Jubilee Raising Day of the Parachute Regiment of the 106 Infantry Battalion of the Territorial Army in Bangaluru today. Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen PC Bharadwaj and Commanding Officer Col SS Deora participated in the function.
