Coastal security utmost priority to the nation: Antony

Defence Minister A.K Antony has said, coastal security is of utmost priority to the nation and it is high on the agenda of the government. He was inaugurating the National Institute for Research and Development in Ship Building (NIRDESH) near Kozhikode in Kerala. NIRDESH is the first warship designing centre in the country. Antony said, the Institute will be a major milestone in securing the borders along India's coast. The Defence Minister said, the work of the ship building institute, NIRDESH will be completed on a war footing. Talking to newsmen at Chaliyam, Mr. Antony said that a policy for producing war equipment indigenously will be announced soon.
