<span style="color: #222222;">As per the prediction of the Regional Meteorological Department, the coastal areas of East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas are likely to be the worst-affected in West Bengal as an impact of Yaas. Kolkata will receive heavy rain with wind speed of 65 to 75 Kilometres per hour whereas extremely heavy rainfall has been predicted for East and West Medinipur. South 24 Parganas and western districts of the state- Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram and West Bardhaman are also expected to be battered by the impact of the cyclone with heavy to very heavy rainfall.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, strong tidal waves and gusty wind with moderate rain have been witnessed at Digha and surrounding areas of East Medinipur since this morning. In the Sunderbans area of North and South 24 Parganas, the water level of rivers has been on the rise, overflowing the river dams. In some areas of Hingalganj, river embankments were damaged and villages started to be flooded. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The local administration is miking in different areas, requesting the people to take shelter in the relief camps. About nine lakh people have already been evacuated from the low-lying and coastal areas in view of the severe cyclone Yaas. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said that the government has been keeping a close watch on the situation. She has been monitoring the overall situation from the Control Room at the State Secretariat. About three lakh personnel, including two lakh police personnel, have been kept ready to take on the challenge of the disaster. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar visited the Met Department at Alipore and also went to the Control Room to monitor the situation.</span><br />''  <br />
