The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asserted that India has started getting its rightful place in the international affairs after a Government with absolute majority came into power. Addressing a meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party BJP workers at DLW ground at Varanasi, he blamed coalition politics for country not getting its due place in the international stage.
Underlining the BJP`s success in getting clear mandate for government formation at Centre after Lok Sabha polls, he said no party was capable to get absolute majority in last 30 years. He said it had developed a wrongful attitude in the world towards India. He said that political instability and a government with fractured mandate cannot command respect.
Mr. Modi expressed hope that his party will be successful in getting clear mandate in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir as it got in Maharashtra and Haryana elections.
Underlining the programs and schemes initiated by his government he said that people are ready to cooperate with the government. He said his government is committed for the welfare of poor and down trodden people. Citing the example of success of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana initiated by his government to open bank accounts of poor people with zero balance, the Prime Minister said about Rs 5000 crore have been deposited in the banks through the accounts opened under the scheme. He said people have responded to Swachh Bharat Mission campaign and it has left great impact on common men. He said similarly sell of Khadi clothes have increased after his appeal to the people in his Radio address for use of Khadi.
Earlier Mr. Modi visited his Public Relation Office of his constituency and met about 20 people and heard their problems.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today also laid foundation stone of Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum at Lalpur village under Sindhora bloack of Varanasi district. Addressing the gathering on the occasion he said that upgradation of technology and human resource development is need of the time in textile sector to attract the young generation towards it. He said measures should be taken that youths join the sector not with compulsion but with pride. He said that it can be done with assured income to them. In another function he announced to adopt Jayapur village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. Addressing the function at the village he exhorted rural folk to give up the dependence on governments for solving their problems.
Addressing the villagers he said that he is confident that villagers have the ability to shape their own destiny through their own entrepreneurial skills and hard work. Mr Modi will wrap up his two day tour tomorrow with visiting Maa Anand Mayi ashram and hospital. He was scheduled to unveil the statue of Swami Vivekananda but it has been cancelled.
