A Special CBI court today granted bail to former coal secretary H C Gupta and retired public servant L S Janoti in a coal scam case. The Court also allowed plea of ex-minister of state for coal Santosh Bagrodia, seeking exemption from personal appearance on health grounds for today. The matter has been fixed for further hearing on September 8.<br/><br/>The special court had last month summoned them as accused in a case in connection with the allocation of Maharashtra's Bander coal block to AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd. The summons pertained to the coal block allocation case in which the CBI had charge sheeted Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Darda, his son Devendra Darda, AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd and its Director Manoj Jayaswal as accused.
