Coal India Ltd produced more than 431 million tonnes of coal in 2009-10

The Coal India Limited has set a new record in terms of production. It has produced more than 431 million tonnes of coal in the year 2009-10. Last year, its production was 404 million tonnes. The Chairman of Coal India Mr. Partha Sarathi Bhattacharjee said this in Kolkata on Tuesday while talking to news persons. He said that Coal India has also made a profit of 12 thousand 397crore rupees in the fiscal year of 2009-10. In the previous year the profit was to the tune of 5 thousand 745crore rupees. Mr. Bhattacharjee said that, the companies in the coal sector which were dubbed as sick units are progressing fast and in no way Coal India has any danger of lagging behind. The Coal India Chairman Mr. Bhattacharjee also said that, for the times-span of 2010-12, the amount of coal aimed at being produced is above more than 462 million tons.
