The standoff between the opposition and the government on CAG report on the allocation of coal blocks continued on the fourth day today. The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day and the Rajya Sabha till 2.30 pm.
As the two Houses met for the day, the angry opposition members trooped into the well raising slogans. They were demanding resignation of the Prime Minister on the issue. This led to adjournment of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha till noon.
When the Houses re-assembled after the adjournment, there was no change in the atmosphere and the Lok Sabha was adjourned till Monday and the Rajya Sabha till 2.30 pm. After the first adjournment in the Lok Sabha, the papers were laid amid din.
Our parliamentary correspondent reports that much business could not be transacted in the two Houses in the last three days due to logjam on the issue.
