Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Dr Jitendra Singh has said that co-operative federalism in the country has ensured the participative policy making and flexibility in transfer of funds as per the need of the states.<br/><br/>Delivering the 59th Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture organised by All India Radio in New Delhi Friday, Dr Singh said, it has also resulted in increase in the efficiency in implementation as the States are taking up ownership of the programmes and policies. <br/><br/>He said, as part of fostering co-operative federalism, Government has created NITI Aayog and enhanced devolution of funds through 14th Finance Commission. He said, the initiatives along with introduction of GST will go down in history as the path breaking initiative of the Modi Government.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, Sardar Patel united the country by the unification of 565 princely states. Mr Rathore said, surprisingly there is no memorial in the country for the Man who reconnected India after independence. <br/>The Lecture can be listened on AIR on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 31st of this month.
