New Chief Ministers of Assam and Kerela will be sworn in tomorrow and West Bengals' on Friday.In Assam, Tarun Gogoi will assume office for the third time in row. He was unanimously elected as the Congress Legislature Party leader in the 13th Assembly of the State today. Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and AICC general secretary in-charge of Assam Digvijay Singh were the Party's observers.A resolution moved by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhubaneswar Kalita for electing Tarun Gogoi as the next CLP leader was unanimously approved by all the 78 newly-elected Congress legislators. Gogoi is meeting the State Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik this evening to stake his claim to form the next Government in the State. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati at 3.00 P.M tomorrow.In Kerala, senior Congress Leader Oommen Chandy will be sworn in as Chief Minister tomorrow afternoon. Leaders of other parties of the Congress led U.D.F are also to take oath as ministers at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram. Expansion of the new government is likely within a week. Sixty eight year old Oommen Chandy will be taking over as chief minister of Kerala for the second time.Congress party leaders are engaged in last round discussion on the number of ministerial berths to be given to other parties of UDF fold. After taking over as Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy will be visiting congress high command in connection with expansion of his cabinet.In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress led new Government will be sworn-in on Friday. State Governor M.K. Narayanan has invited Mamta Banerjee to take oath as Chief Minister of the state after her election as the leader of Trinamool Congress Legislature Party. Preparations are also on for the swearing-in ceremony.Our Kolkata correspondent reports that the Trinamool Congress leadership is keen to make the swearing-in ceremony as a historic event after ending of Left Front government's 34 years of rule. The party chief Ms. Mamata Banerjee met the UPA Chairperson Ms. Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh in the National Capital yesterday and invited them to attend the oath taking ceremony.Besides she also requested the Congress Party to join her ministry. According to preliminary information Congress is likely to join in the Mamata Banerjee led cabinet in West Bengal.
