In Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio will be sworn-in again as Chief Minister of the state today. Governor Nikhil Kumar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Rio and his cabinet colleagues at 11 am.
The Naga Peoples’ Front, NPF got absolute majority with 38 members in the 60-member State Assembly. BJP and JD(U) are joining as allies of the NPF, to form the DAN regime for the third consecutive term in the State. Our Correspondent reports that the swearing-in-ceremony will be held at the Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall in Kohima.She also adds that all arrangements are being made at the Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall, Kohima for the swearing-in ceremony to be held today. Neiphiu Rio, who powered NPF to an emphatic victory in Nagaland, will take oath as the 19th Chief Minister of Nagaland. This will be Rio’s third term as Chief Minister of the state and his six-time win in elections. The 63 year old Rio is the only leader to have led the regional party to victory in the Assembly elections for the third time in the 50-year history of Nagaland statehood. All dignitaries of political parties, all administrative heads of departments, dignitaries of public and private enterprises are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Council of Ministers for the 12th House of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly today. In Meghalaya, Dr Mukul Sangma will take oath as the Chief Minister of the State for a second term today at 11:30 am at Raj Bhavan, while his Ministry will take oath of office later. The Governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary will administer the oath to him.
Earlier, in the Congress Legislature Party meeting held in Shillong on Friday, Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma was elected as the CLP leader. The Congress has already received the unconditional support of two Nationalist Congress Party MLAs and eight Independents for the formation of Government in the state.
