Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today presented cash prizes to sportspersons from the state who won medals in the recent Commonwealth Games in Australia. 

He gave cheques for one crore rupees each to table-tennis players A Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan. Kamal and Sathiyan had won gold in the men's team event and silver in the doubles. 

Besides, Kamal also bagged the bronze in the singles section. Another table-tennis player A Amalraj, who won team event gold, received a cheque for 50 lakh rupees.

Weightlifter Sathishkumar Sivalingam, who had won gold, was presented with a cheque of 50 lakh rupees.

Women Squash player Deepika Pallikal who won a silver, received a cehque for 60 lakh rupees. Another Squash player, Saurabh Ghoshal, who won a silver, was presented with a cheque of 30 lakh rupees. 

The state government also rewarded the coaches of the players with a total of  54 lakh rupees.
