CM orders probe into UP Combined Pre-Medical Test paper leak

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed a probe by a high-level committee into the alleged Combined Pre-Medical Test paper leak which led to cancellation of the examination.

An official statement said the Chief Minister has directed Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan to constitute a high-level committee to probe the paper leak and cancellation of CPMT.Meanwhile, BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai demanded a CBI probe into the issue.

The UP Combined Premedical Test was cancelled today over suspected question paper leak after the seals of two boxes containing them were found to have been tampered in Ghaziabad.

Coordinator of UP Combined Premedical Test A K Singh said that July 20 has been proposed as the fresh date for the examination, although a final decision in this regard would be taken by the state government.

AIR Lucknow correspondent reports, the UPCPMT exam has been rescheduled for July 20 but the decision has left thousands of candidates angry and frustrated.

The Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has assured that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

Meanwhile the opposition BJP has demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident.

The paper leak has come as another setback to the Samajwadi Party led state government which is on the backfoot over deteriorating law and order situation and a spate of rape cases in the state.
