CM N Rangasamy to present Puducherry Budget on August 22

Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the union territory's budget for the year 2022-23 tomorrow. AIR correspondent reports, in a press communication, Assembly Secretary R. Mounissamy said that the Assembly would reassemble on 22nd August around 9.45 a.m.<br />''<br />''The budget is being presented after the Centre approved a draft budget for 10,696 crore rupees. There is an increase of 282 crore rupees more than the previous budget outlay of 10,414 crore rupees.<br />''<br />''A vote on account for 3,613 crore rupees has already been passed for 5 months, from April to August.<br />''The current fiscal year budget has to be mandatorily passed before August 31 and so the session is likely to last till August 31.<br />''<br />''Earlier the Puducherry Assembly budget session which began on August 10th with the customary address by Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan adjourned sine die on the same day. <br />
