In a bid to gather the support of all like-minded regional parties together, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee today held a meeting with NCP Chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai. Speaking to reporters post the meeting, Mr. Pawar said the intention is to set up a collective leadership against the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party and present a strong alternative to citizens before the 2024 general elections. He said that the meeting was very positive and all opposition parties, including the Congress, are welcome to join the initiative.<br />'' <br />'' Stating that there was no longer a UPA, Ms. Banerjee shrugged questions of whether Sharad Pawar, being the senior-most leader, would be the face of the alliance.
