Climate change deal must be based on CBDR principle: Javadekar

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today said any new arrangement or convention in Paris on climate change should be based on Common but differentiated responsibilities, CBDR principle as well as opportunities to India for development. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters on the sideline of a function in New Delhi, Mr Javadekar said, the developed world should fulfill the commitment of 100 billion dollars of Green Climate Fund to fight climate change. <br/><br/>He however added that, this amount is not sufficient and it will require trillion of dollars per year to the world. The Minister said, India is very pragmatic and pro-active in its approach and will try to evolve a solution rather than create problem. <br/><br/>Speaking on the issue of Global Solar Alliance led by India, Mr. Javadekar said, it is a big success and will bring more investment in the region which has bright sunshine but less financial resources. He said, it will also provide cleaner energy in future and opportunities to boost research activities in the field of Renewable energy.
