President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil today said that cleanliness is very important for good health and for that it is necessary to maintain pollution free environment in our country. She was speaking at dedication function of Solid Waste Management Project of the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. This project is aimed at maintaining ecological environment in Jalgaon city. <br/><br/>The project has capacity of processing 150 metric tonne garbage per day. It will help in producing plastic granule and organic manure. Appreciating Jalgaon Municipal Corporation ‘s initiative, the president said that such projects should also be developed by other cities. <br/><br/>Along with Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan other dignitaries also attended the function. Tomorrow morning, the president will unveil Jalgaon Airport Foundation plaque. She will also be visiting College of Engineering and Technology at Bhambori in Jalgaon.
