President Ramnath Kovind has said that cleanliness is the real service to humanity. Inaugurating na ation wide mass movement on Swachchhata, Hi Seva this evening at Ishwariganj village in Kanpur, he said that without mass support objects of Swachchhata Mission can not be achieved. <br/><br/>He said that entire country is engaged in a fight for cleanliness and each and every person should fix his roll in this movement. Remembering father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi the President said country's achievements in Swachchhata mission only will be real tribute to him. Underlining the adverse impact of dirtiness, he said about 6 crore fifty Lakhs people are suffering from mental problems. He said filth invites diseases and they badly affect the poor people.<br/><br/>Mr Kovind said that with the contribution of NGOs, corporates, NCC, NSS and Panchayati Raj Institutions Swachchhata mission has spread up its activities but its objectives cannot be achieved without active participation of common people. Mr Kovind also administered a pledge to the people for their commitment to cleanliness.<br/><br/>Addressing the function, UP Governor Ram Naik said that non availability of place of worship in the house is acceptable but non availability of toilets are not tolerable. Reiterating his government's commitment for clean Ganga, UP CM yogi Adityanath announced to organise Ganga Mahotsav in all the districts located on the banks of river Ganga to make people aware for cleanliness of the river. <br/><br/>President also honoured the members of Ishwariganj Gram Panchayat and members of vigilant committee for their achievements in getting status of Open Defecation Free village.
