Prime Minister Narendra Modi said cleanliness is more important than political freedom. He was addressing sarpanchs from across India in Gandhinagar after giving away Swatch Shakti awards. Mr. Modi honored 10 women Sarpanchs, who have adopted best practices in building toilets and working towards making their villages open defecation-free.<br/><br/>Mr. Modi said these women, who were honored today have shattered many myths and shown how a positive change can began in rural India. He said, women sarpanchs can play a key role to end female foeticide. The Prime Minister said, we should try to invigorate the villages with technology keeping in mind the requirements.
