Clean Ganga: SC slams Centre, pollution boards for not taking action against industries

Supreme Court has pulled up Centre and state pollution control boards for not taking action against polluting industries functioning on the banks of the river Ganga. The apex court passed stern remarks against the pollution control boards for its casual approach in the cleaning of the river and said it was a complete failure.

The apex court said the pollution control boards have not taken any action against the factories which release filth in the Ganga river. The Court asked National Green Tribunal to monitor and take action against all polluting industrial units on banks of the river.
