Clashes between protesters and security forces continued throughout the day in many parts of Tunisia despite Government measures to quell the month-long unrest. A night time curfew has been imposed in the capital Tunis after police fired tear gas on demonstrators. At least two protesters were shot dead. Earlier, President Zine Abidin Ben Ali sacked his Interior Minister, ordered the release of those arrested during the protests and decided to set up a committee to investigate corruption.
