In West Bengal, at least 28 under-trail prisoners and jail wardens were injured in a clash at Midnapore central jail on Tuesday. According to official sources, the trouble began at the jail premises when head-count of the under-trials were on in the morning. The under trials, which include over 100 hardcore maoists suddenly attacked the jail wardens over alleged mismanagement. The Additional Director General of Jails, Mr.B D Sharma told in Kolkata that the injured wardens and under-trails have been admitted to Midnapore medical college and hospitals. The state jail department has started an enquiry over the whole episode.
