Kolkata Knight Riders will clash with Auckland in a Group-A match of the ICC Champions League Twenty-20 cricket tournament at Newlands in Cape Town, South Africa today. The match will be played at 9 PM.In yesterday's Group-B matches, both the IPL teams — Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians — endured a defeat in their opening encounter.In the first match of the day, Sydney Sixers defeated Chennai by 18 runs. Put into bat, Sydney amassed a mammoth 185 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs. It was a valuable contribution from all the Sydney batsmen. Moises Henriques top scored with an unbeaten 49, while Shane Watson made 46. In reply, MS Dhoni led Chennai managed to make 171 for 9 in 20 overs. Henriques was good with the ball as well. He bagged 3 wickets and was adjudged man of the match.Later, in the second match, Mumbai Indians lost their opening match of the tournament against Lions by 8 wickets. Mumbai posted 157 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs, after Lions Skipper Alviro Petersen won the toss and opted to field first. Left arm pacer Sohail Tanvir scalped 2 wickets for the Lions.In reply, Lions overhauled the target with 8 wickets intact and 7 balls remaining. Neil McKenzie was named player of the match for a brilliant 68 not out. Quinton De Cock also chipped with a superb 51 not out in a thrilling chase.
