Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir inaugurated a fast-track court in Delhi this evening to hear rape cases and crimes against women. The case of 23-year-old- gang rape victim will be the first one to be heard in this court located in the Saket Court Complex. With this court, four more fast track courts will become functional from tomorrow in the city.
The Delhi Police plans to submit around 1000-page chargesheet in the metropolitan magistrate’s court in Saket tomorrow. Then, the case will be moved to the fast-track court to hear it on a day-to-day trial basis.
AIR correspondent reports, the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court had last month said that all cases related to crimes against women in the city would be handled by fast-track courts.
