The Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra has called for finding early resolutions to disputes to ensure speedy justice. He dedicated the renovated 125 years old heritage structures within the premises of the Madras High Court including a light house and a court museum today. Later in his address, he asked advocates to avoid seeking adjournments in cases as much as possible. <br/><br/>Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad stressed that the judiciary should dispose off cases which are more than ten years old, on a priority basis. He said 175 judges to the higher judiciary were appointed last year and more will be appointed this year as well. He said information technology is revolutionizing justice delivery system in the country. <br/><br/>Madras High Court Chief Justice Indira Banerjee said the Court building is the most magnificent judicial structure with heritage value and noted that committed legal professionals and judges only breathe life into it. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy announced that the welfare fund for advocates irrespective of their income limit would be enhanced from 5.25 lakh rupees to seven lakh rupees by the Government.
