In Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani shelling in Poonch district today left a civilian killed. <br/><br/>After a few days lull, Pakistan forces resorted to shelling and firing in Poonch sector along the Line of Control this evening.<br/><br/>The civilian in Noorkote area of this border district was seriously injured when a Pakistani shell landed in his house this evening. The victim, later succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Poonch.<br/>'<br/>Defence sources told AIR Jammu that the forces from across the Line of Control started unprovoked firing targeting Indian positions and civilian areas in Poonch sector around 5 PM this evening.<br/><br/>The troops guarding the borderline retaliated the firing and gave a befitting reply. Heavy exchange of gunfire lasted about an hour. Besides small and automatic arms, heavy mortars were also used in the cross border shelling.
