Civil nuke co-op to be key issue in Indo-Japan talks

Civil nuclear cooperation will be high on the agenda in the summit level discussions between Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Japanese counterpart Yoshihiko Noda who reached New Delhi last evening.

He will hold the sixth annual meeting with his Japanese counterpart today.

AIR correspondent reports that India held three rounds of negotiations with Japanese authorities but the talks were suspended due to the Fukushima disaster.

The two leaders will also discuss regional issues, including the new developments in North Korea after the death of its leader Kim Jong-IL.

This is Mr. Noda's first visit to India as Prime Minister of Japan.
