The Civil Nuclear Liability Bill will be the focus of attention in Parliament when it will meet today after a three day's break. Science and Technology Minister Prithvi Raj Chavan will introduce the bill in Lok Sabha for its consideration and passege. Several amendments will also be moved.In a bid to reach Opposition, Mr Chavan met senior CPIM leader, Sitaram Yechury yesterday. Mr Yechury later told reporters that the minister appeared willing to consider our point of view, especially those relating to the suppliers' liability. Mr Chavan also met National Secretary of CPI, D. Raja in this regard. Earlier, he met the BJP leader, Arun Jaitley to seek the main Opposition party's support for the bill which will pave the way for resumption of Civil Nuclear Commerce with international community. Science and Technology Minister has made it clear that government is ready for any reasonable modification in the bill to address the concerns of the Opposition. The BJP will hold a meeting this morning to take a final call on bill. Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has called a meeting of floor leaders today to ensure smooth conduct of business in the House.
