A Bill to provide for civil liabilities for nuclear damage was introduced in the Lok Sabha today. <br/><br/>The civil liability bill was introduced by the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Prithviraj Chavan amidst walkout by the NDA and Left Party members. <br/><br/>The bill also paves the way for appointment of claims commissioner and establishment of nuclear damage claims commission. <br/><br/>The introduction of the Bill was deferred in the first half of the budget session following stiff resistance from the entire opposition. The passage of the bill is considered important for starting nuclear commerce between India and international community.
