The Civil Hospital of Aizawl in Mizoram has become the first ISO 9001:2008 certified hospital in entire north-east amongst the government hospitals. An announcement to this effect was made on Friday at a function by the senior consultant, public health quality improvement, New Delhi in Aizawl. A certificate mentioning ISO 9001:2008 recognition to the Aizawl Civil Hospital was also handed over to the state Health and Family Welfare Minister.The hospital will bear the ISO recognition for a period of three years, up to 15th December, 2013. On the occasion, the Health and Family Minister said that the hospital needs to keep providing standard health facilities. He said some latest diagnostics machines would be installed in the hospital to help it maintain the standard.
